    Darlene and her husband Mitchell manage the farm and grow most of the feed for their cattle themselves. “And when we need an extra set of hands, our whole family put on their rubber boots, and come out to help.”

    The Sanfords believe that healthy soil and slow and steady growth are two of the best things a farm can do to create a high quality product. That’s why the Certified Beef brand interested them. “We keep a close eye on their diet and we make sure they get all the nutrients they need. We pay attention to details, make sure that we are buying the right cattle and take the steps required to make sure that they are what the consumers are looking for when they leave our farm. It’s about standing behind our product. When customers are buying Prince Edward Island Certified Beef, they know the quality they’re getting and they see the people who actually produce the beef they enjoy eating.”
